Repairs, servicing & authentication
Looked after, a good watch outlives all of us. Our watchmakers are inside Rolex, Omega and Cartier movements every week, so a full service, a fault nobody else has pinned down, or a case brought back from years of hard wear is ordinary work here. You get a written quote first, and your watch comes back insured.
On the bench
Most watches come to us for one of four reasons. Find yours below. If what your watch is doing is not on the list, ask anyway, because it almost certainly still lands in one of them.
What every mechanical watch needs every few years. The movement comes out of the case and is stripped to its individual parts, cleaned, rebuilt with fresh oils, then timed and tested before it goes anywhere near you.
Something has gone wrong. Almost all of it is fixable, and the job starts with finding what is actually causing it rather than swapping parts and hoping.
The part everybody notices. We refinish to the original lines rather than rounding a case off, because an over polished watch is worth less than an honest one.
Buying privately, or want to know for certain what you already own? We check it the same way we check our own stock before it goes on sale, and you get a straight answer either way.
No price list, and that is deliberate. A battery change and a full overhaul on a chronograph are not the same job, so a “from” figure would tell you nothing useful about your watch. We assess it, then send you a written quote. Nothing happens until you approve it.

Why it matters
A mechanical movement is hundreds of parts running against each other every second of every day. The oils holding them apart break down after a few years, and from that point the wear is no longer gradual. A service every five years or so is the difference between an heirloom and a rebuild.
There is money in it too. We value watches to buy every week, and one with a known service history, an intact case and its original parts is worth a good deal more than the same reference that has been left fifteen years.
How it works
You will know what the watch needs and what it costs before anyone touches it, and where it is the whole time it is with us.
Tell us what it's doing
Message us with the make, model and what you have noticed. A photo or a short video of the fault tells us a lot.
Get it to us
Bring it to the Liverpool showroom by appointment, or we will have it collected from your door, fully insured.
Assessment and quote
We open it up and find out exactly what it needs. You get that in writing, with a price, before anyone touches it.
On the bench
The service, repair or restoration itself, then timed, pressure tested and signed off.
Back on your wrist
Returned insured and tracked, or collect in person. You get a record of the work, and it is guaranteed.

Authentication & verification
Fakes have got good. Far more common, and much harder to spot, is a genuine case wearing a replaced dial, hands or bracelet. We check a watch against the factory reference for that model, exactly as we check our own stock before it goes on sale, and you get a written condition report and a straight opinion on it.
Brands we look after
Omega, Rolex, Cartier, Audemars Piguet, Tudor, TAG Heuer and Breitling come through the workshop regularly, along with Patek Philippe, IWC, Panerai and Jaeger-LeCoultre. Not sure about yours? Ask.

A few details are all we need to start. We come back to you with what it needs, what it costs, and how long it will take.
Servicing questions
Every five years or so for most mechanical watches, though it depends on the movement and how hard the watch is worn. Timekeeping drifting, the power reserve dropping off and gritty winding are the signs worth acting on. If it has been ten years or more, have it looked at whether or not anything feels wrong.
It depends on the watch and what it needs, so we don't publish a price list. A battery change and a full overhaul on a chronograph are not the same job, and a headline figure would tell you nothing useful about yours. We assess it, then send you a written quote. Nothing happens until you approve it.
A small repair can be quick. A full service usually runs to weeks rather than days, because the movement has to be cleaned, rebuilt, oiled, then left running and tested properly. You get a realistic timescale with the quote, and we keep you posted.
Yes. It makes no difference where the watch came from. Plenty of the watches on our bench were bought elsewhere, won at auction, or passed down.
Rolex, Omega, Cartier, Tudor, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Breitling, TAG Heuer, IWC and other Swiss makes. If you are not sure about yours, ask.
Yes. We check the movement, case, dial, bracelet and paperwork against the factory reference for that model, and you get a written condition report. It is the same check every watch in our own collection goes through before we offer it for sale.
Over polishing does. Done badly it rounds off the case lines and takes away metal nobody can put back, which is the first thing a collector looks for. Done properly the original finish and geometry survive. If a watch is better left alone we will say so rather than take the work.
Yes. Insured in transit both ways and while it is with us, tracked throughout. You will always know where it is.
